An Austin woman was jailed on a manslaughter charge after accidentally shooting her boyfriend while posing for a photo, officials said.

Autumn Ravonne King, 20, was arrested Monday in Pflugerville in the Dec. 23 death of Eric Charles Allen, 26.

King told officials she was posing for a Snapchat photo with a rifle aimed directly at Allen, who was about to take the photo. She said she accidentally pulled the trigger, fatally wounding Allen.
The Travis County medical examiner's office ruled the death a homicide, and the cause of death the gunshot wound.

King and Allen were living in a home in North Austin at the time. The shooting took place just after noon in the home, where two small children were also present, police said.King is being held in the Travis County Jail on $200,000 bail.

I read the article.

She needs to go before a jury. Let them judge her guilt or innocence. I suspect murder.

And...naw... I'll pass on the GoFundMe plea too.

Note that this is a completely technical finding and not a criminal charge. If you are attacked by a total madman in front of a thousand witnesses and you shoot him, it would be the same finding.

Mistake while taking a picture? Of course not... guns don't kill people, right?

I'm in favor of a law that if any person voluntarily touches a firearm, any consequences that follow are automatically considered to be pre-meditated.

Article states there's video on the phone of them arguing about cheating 15min prior to the shooting.

Cmon now. This is likely murder under the guise of an accident.

What adult points a loaded shotgun, with finger on trigger, at someone, for a photo?

Further, who does this with children present?

If they were just goofing around one would think she'd have had gun not loaded, or finger at least not on trigger.

Unless she really is that imbecilic, which of course is possible.

You never point a gun at someone... loaded or unloaded... real or toy. She deserves some form of punishment.
