I seriously doubt that. They might have been made in the same factory on the same machines (a sewing machine is a sewing machine), but the materials and design were not the same. Your neighbor is full of it.

Happens all the time. When I dealt with laser printer cartridges, about six printers with Canon patent engines had names like H-P, Brother. Same with ink jet printers. I guess you don't think that Maytag washing machines and Bill-Bob washing machines can be made in the same factory with same parts. Only difference is the name decal and a few hundred dollars less for Billy-Bob.

This is the case with OTC meds too. They make aspirin pills for Walmart brand and Bayer and dollar store brands, all the same. But some people are like “I only buy name brand Ibuprofen”.

Not just OTC, but generic medications as well. I knew an executive from a generic pharmaceutical company and he told me they frequently make the name brand meds as well as their own. It was cheaper for the name brand pharmaceutical company to have them produce them at the same time as the generic. Only difference was the packaging being used to send to the pharmacies.

I was looking for a pair of steel toed boots last week. Went to Fred Meyer and there was a pair for $95.00. I decided to look around some more and I saw a Payless down in Burien. Same pair of boots for $50.

What needs to be said?

Good job exposing the rip offs and the henchmen.

As bad as they are, what's even worse is that there are plenty of people who are so shallow and lacking in any ability to think for themselves that they slavishly follow whatever the "social influencers" tell them to wear.

I have surely saved thousands of dollars over the course of my lifetime by having no interest in what is or is not "trendy" and by being so indifferent to "social influencers" that I wouldn't know one if I knocked one off her trendy, overpriced shoes.

That is my ex wife to a "T". If it was the latest and the greatest she had to have it at any cost, especially if one of her "friends" had it. Impulsive and gullible, lived in the moment. Once the girls were out of the house it seems like she lost 50 iq points. She's so deep in the hole now she'll never see daylight and from what I hear on the grape vine she's managed to make yet another guy run screaming into the night.
