They should have known better in this super duper hyper sensitive world we live in these days.

But it's great the aquarium gave a classic "IF" we offended you non-apology, perfect for situations like these.

This has been a banner year for animals who have caught the public’s attention due to their size or beauty: the Big Cow, the Fat Bear, the Hot Duck. Perhaps that’s why the Monterey Bay Aquarium was extra enthusiastic when describing a photo they posted of Abby, a resident sea otter, on Tuesday. “Abby is a thicc girl. What an absolute unit. She c h o n k. Look at the size of this lady,” they wrote. “OH LAWD SHE COMIN.” Abby did indeed look robust and magnificent.

Most of the girth you see is hair/fur and fat layers (they have this fat for a reason).

But are they usually that big? Her head looks too small for that body. Admittedly, I've only seen this type of critter a few times.

If an aquarium that is known for their sea otters is calling a sea otter "thicc", then yeah it's a thicc sea otter.
