Amazon CEO and founder Jeff Bezos says that he and his wife MacKenzie are divorcing after 25 years of marriage.
The Amazon exec and MacKenzie Bezos made the announcement on Bezos' Twitter account Wednesday.
"We want to make people aware of a development in our lives," they said in the tweet. "As our family and close friends know, after a long period of loving exploration and trial separation, we have decided to divorce and continue our shared lives as friends."
For those of us who love to shop at Amazon, let's hope Jeff had a strong prenuptial agreement in place before he married. In business school, in a class lecture, one of my professors told us to make sure we get good prenuptial agreements before we marry because a divorce could wipe out our assets and companies. The two professors who were in attendance at that lecture concurred and further elaborated with their own experiences. What struck me was how serious they all were in this discussion.

Why? Amazon will continue to exist even if the wife gets 1/2 the stock in the company.
You take your chances in life when you get married. If I had asked my wife to sign a prenuptial agreement, she would have taken a hike.
Everything in life isn't about a financial transaction.
Well, look at the bright side, at least she isn't leaving him for someone with more money.
Right. Plus if she takes half the value of her stock will definitely dwindle as Bezos has grown the company through his ownership of stock.
