...after asking permission to bury his pet there.

The neighbor and customer apparently had a "pet cemetery" on his property. When he returned from vacation, authorities knocked on his door, and ultimately found the child buried in his yard.

I know.

Both the landscaper and his girlfriend (the child's mother) were arrested. Police were notified when, reportedly, a relative inquired as to the whereabouts of their daughter, and were told that she'd drowned. She was found buried beneath the remains of a dog.

They probably intentionally killed the dog too.
