Who called it in to the cops? Stage 4 pancreatic cancer is about as bad as it gets. Even if they only issue a citation, it’s not likely he will live long enough to pay it.
Not to pursue gratuitous levity, but this whole vignette reminds me of the "stoning scene" in Monty Python's "The Life of Brian", where the condemned prisoner taunts his executioners, crying "Jehovah, Jehovah,...!"
What could the police conceivably do to this man? Arrest him? What grand jury would indict him? If somehow indicted, what court would arraign him? What judge would declare him to be competent to stand trial?
