It's not often a Major League Baseball player signs a nine-figure contract and stirs debate about how much he got underpaid.

Yet such is the case with Ronald Acuna Jr.

After ten million, it's mostly about ego anyway.

The exception would be people who plan to donate most of it...there don't seem to be many of those however.

He's not complaining about being underpaid, which is what the OP is insinuating. The article is just saying he could/should have gotten more. A bit misleading.

Lol what a crybaby. Go make your millions and be quiet. Christ 100 million and it’s underpaid? Anyone remember the strike years back and the backlash from that?

It’s stories like this that I don’t watch support or purchase ANY pro sports paraphernalia. I refuse to contribute. About the only thing I watch is the Super Bowl and that’s pretty much for the commercials.

I've never been able to figure out why we put such a high value on 'entertainment', which is really all theses high paid sports figure provide. Same goes for movie stars, rock stars, etc.. What makes them more worthy of mega-millions any more than other occupations that may actually benefit mankind on a large scale?

I have to spread reputation around.

Sounds like all the other commentators here didn't actually read the article, at no point is he complaining about his contract or salary. At least, not yet.

And the other comment is that he's one injury away from a minimum wage job, even though his salary is 100% guaranteed even if he never plays another game due to injury.
