Found safe. Apparently she was in someone's front yard "by a rock".
Investigation ongoing.

Exactly. And the motive. :-/
And the ski masks that somehow revealed the man's red hair.

I'm thinking that too. Ski masks cover the entire head and face. She couldn't have seen any hair at all.

You do realize that men are capable of growing their hair long, right? Pretty common to see long haired dudes in the Asheville area.

According to this updated article, the mom was found "with her vehicle", and the baby was found nearby in a yard.
Um, I really just don't think so, Mom.
How in the world does this kidnapping pair get out of the vehicle with the baby, drop it in a yard and escape in a way that the mother doesn't notice?
Why is there NO ONE coming out, neighbors, friends, grandma, husband, thanking Law Enforcement for bringing this precious child back to them? Hmm.

Am I the only one wondering if the mother should be evaluated for post-partum depression?

Mother is in jail pending charges of attempted first degree murder.
I'm a little surprised at that charge - I was expecting filing a false police report.
I guess we'll see.
