A 92 yr old woman shot her 72 yr old son because he was going to put her in a nursing home. She killed him...one mean mama.

UPDATED FROM A PREVIOUS POSTER'S POST THAT WAS POSTED LAST YEAR
Here is the original thread:
92-year-old woman kills son who wanted to put her into an ALF

My link shows updated info on what happened to her and why she said she did it.

And as a result she got to spend the rest of her life in the ultimate assisted living facility. Hindsight is obviously 20/20, but in retrospect her son should have simply abandoned her to her fate.

Was she a wretched, spiteful, straight-razor totin' woman?

(Name that tune.)

I almost know that. There's some sort of picky, itchy thing going on in my brain. My husband and friend Irene always knew the answers to these questions.

I cheated.

From the article: "Blessing died in jail hospice on January 25, 2019."

She's dead. It's over.

The adult children have little choice, what with their parents living well into their 90s. The children, who themselves in their 70s should be enjoying their golden years, but can't, especially if they want to travel or move when they retire. In this case the son didn't dump his mother, and he ended up being murdered by her. Had he walked away, he'd be considered by all to be "a bad son".

Mama didn't deserve him. What a SOB he must have been dealing with... yet he didn't walk away and abandon her.

She didn't want to go into a nursing home, and he promised he wouldn't make her.
He was going to put her away despite that promise.

How do you know what he promised her? Because she said so? This lady was mentally ill and it was probably getting worse as she aged. You have no idea what they may have been going through with her in that home.

You sound like you’re defending her actions.

Yeah and?? What's your point?

Unless someone's an MD and uniquely qualified to care for someone like this then that's a false promise everyone makes because nobody knows the future.

I deliver mail to such a facility.

Most go in kicking and screaming but then end up liking it.
