It isn't just grocery stores. I went to one of those Frozen Yogurt places that have the dispenser taps along the walls, and you serve yourself. While we were standing there, looking at the flavor choices, a couple with a kid around 5 or 6 years old was also milling around. As they were watching him, the kid went to EACH of the 10 yogurt dispenser taps and stuck his finger up inside of the tap, licked the yogurt off his finger, and went down the line to the next flavor. Same finger each time, probably the same one that he picks his nose with.
The parents were watching and the employees were watching. It was a small place so everyone saw this. I looked at the employees to see if they were going to do or say something, but they just stood there. Needless to say, we walked out without buying any of the slobber/booger tainted frozen treat flavors that day. I commented about this on their Facebook page and the owner deleted it. We never went back.

Stores can’t watch everything every customer and employee do. It’s impossible. What’s not impossible is for adult customers to act like respectable citizens instead of childish idiots. I hope this person is identified within his community and shamed horribly for his actions as well as face criminal charges.
Yup. Jail time would be nice. And when they're out, I'd like for them to be forced to stand outside the store wearing a sign saying, "I'm an attention wh*re. I spit in drinks/lick food/act a fool for likes."
Bulk bins and kids — I was in Sprouts and watched as a mother yelled at her two boys to stop playing in the bins of bulk candy. They laughed and ignored her. We don’t buy products from bulk bins anymore.
