Rant aside, something really needs to be done about such people. I suggest that they be locked up and the book thrown at them to set an example. A complete disgrace!
This has probably been happening since the beginning of food sales but it wasn't until now that someone was stupid enough to post their crime for all to see with their face clear and front and center.
Why are people still buying products in 2019 that are not sealed against tampering? Why are manufacturers still selling such products and why are retailers accepting such things?
I agree. If it looks like it was opened, or somone even attempted it dont buy it. Tell an employee. Im worried this will escalate, and hoping we dont see another mass poisoning like with the Tylenol incident years ago.

A better question might be, "Who buys a bottle that obviously has been opened and put back on the shelf?"
Arizona Tea bottles have tamper-evident caps: unscrew it and it breaks the seal and is obvious that the bottle has been opened.
