Topless sunbather at beach sparks debate about nudity
A Minnesota woman is sparking debate about the state’s definition of nudity after being approached by police for sunbathing topless on a local beach.
Michelle Bennett told Minneapolis station WCCO that she had been minding her own business on the beaches of Duluth for about 20 minutes before a woman had approached her to tell her she was “making her children uncomfortable.”
OK, so what's the problem? One female chose to sunbather without the "girls" being covered (though they are very sensitive to any, sun included, radiation). Another female, a prude, felt offended.
They both expressed their liberties. It's like open carrying in open carry state. Someone will always feel threatened, offended, or else.
We had to put boxers onto a mannequin in my office (sexless male torso) because someone considered it nudity.
It's always the Americans who have problems with nude sunbathing. My kids have been hanging out on topless/nude beaches in Europe and the Caribbean since they were kids.
They are all in their thirties and have no scars.
The woman lied. Her kids weren't uncomfortable, SHE was uncomfortable.
I live in Sarasota, FL and back in the 70s one of our beaches was a "topless" beach. Unfortunately things got out of hand shall we say and there was an end put to it. Just too many creepers, plus people having open sex on the beach. That's what happens in the US. Better to keep covered here.
Yeah, until women's equality with regard to policing their clothing and bodies changes, this will linger forever. She should use the TaTaTop and claim the pictured nipples are mens Maybe seeing men's nipples will make the kids more comfortable since we all know seeing women's nipples makes the prudes uncomfortable.

using the state to enforce your preferences isnt liberty.

Good for you and your kids. Way to expose them to the big, wide world out there.
Yes, we still have that Puritan influence that got them kicked out of England....but stoning witches was OK.
I think it's fascinating that women can have their boobs stuck in a kid's face for two years, or even more in some cases, while nursing, and that doesn't traumatize a kid. But heaven forbid a kid see a boob on the beach at age 5 or 6 and all of a sudden the little ones will be scarred by seeing the same boobs? I mean, is it the context or something? It just seems a little hypocritical to me.
