In-n-Out is so overrated. I didn't even like their "food" when I lived in CA. Their burgers are generally burnt, their fries have no flavor, and the only thing they have going for them is their concrete mix milkshakes.

I thought of In-N-Out as a "good" fast food chain, where their burgers taste like backyard burgers, without a lingering aftertaste like some other chains. I can't solve this mystery, but I'll put the franchise on the "would visit again" list.
My guess is that Lincoln Boehn bought an In-N-Out burger in California, wrapped it nicely and secured it in his luggage, then placed it on the street in Jamaica, Queens and made his own 15 minutes of fame.
In-N-Out is a great burger for the price, but I don't get the cult.
It is just a fast food burger. One can make a good case for prefering another. I would eat In-N-Out if I lived in California, for example, but I prefer Shake Shake and Whataburger.

My guess is that a mama's boy moved with his wife from the west coast to the east coast and mommy FedEx'd her son his favorite meal. Wife intercepted the package and chucked it out the window.
My guess is coming only from personal experience.
