I saw this story on the nightly news this evening. It was so touching but especially the fact that his son, now grown, flew the plane that brought Col. Knight home. Something really special and very profound about that.

Amazing how much the son resembles his father back in the day of him going to Vietnam. Very sad story.

Glad the family finally has closure. Shot down over Laos a place most Americans don’t even know was part of the Vietnam War. They’re still searching for these fallen warriors as far back as WWII. Just recently a Marine was recovered from Tarawa a Pacific battleground of the 1940’s.

This was all over the local DFW news the other day. I’ve kind of grown accustomed to the Honor Flight/servicemen and women surprising their kids etc., but it actually brought tears to my eyes. Everyone was so respectful.
