The 2-year-old dachshund, "RJ," was in his yard when the [now-former] Amazon delivery person, accompanied by her boyfriend, picked him up and drove away.
With the help of much publicity, FB communities, and a neighbor's doorbell video, RJ was surrendered to authorities, and returned to his family 4 days later.
Amazon apologized profusely, and sent RJ a doggie gift basket when they learned of his safe return.
The owners should not have left the dog outside by himself with no supervision. I am glad he made it back home.
Dogs are allowed out in fenced in yard all the time. They don’t normally have someone sit out there with them every second. My niece lets her dog out in the backyard fenced in, to use the bathroom she doesn’t stand there and watch him. I don’t know anyone who does that.
“Well, she shouldn’t have worn a skirt that short”

Hope your eyes don't fall out from all of that rolling. I didn't say that someone should sit outside with the dog every second, but when I let my dogs out in the backyard, I did keep an eye on them from the kitchen window from time to time and would have been aware of someone opening my gate and entering my yard. Your last little sentence is a total and silly non sequitur.

They were probably more concerned about keeping an eye on their kids than their dog being out unsupervised in the back yard.

A non sequitur? No, it was an analogy pointing out your use of the old 'blame the victim' trope.
