CSX Train Q025 hit a truck stuck on the tracks in Douglas Ga. Monday morning 2/7/22 and derailed. Watch until the end. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported but definitely a bumpy ride for the crew. No haz mats were in the consist. This is a high priority intermodal train from Jacksonville, Florida to Chicago.
Amazing how train engine can take on tractor trailers and come away with barely a scratch (as long as they stay upright).
I'm sure it needs a new paint job.
But a locomotive engine clocks in at somewhere nearing half a million pounds (north of 200 tons). All it hit here was an open trailer with not much on it. That's like throwing a baseball at a window. The baseball wins.
And a train is inevitably going to massive outweigh anything on the road, usually by an order of magnitude or two.
This is like a miniature Chernobyl. They're covering up just how bad this is and how much its going to affect the lives of those around it for years to come. Yeah, everything's clear, the danger is over. Then when people start getting sick and dying it will be because of global warming or Russia or China.
Nice job, Mayor Petey Buttjudge.
