Seriously, who thinks of stuff like this?

A popular TikTok challenge has reemerged during the coronavirus quarantine, and it's one that could have deathly consequences.

For the popular nutmeg challenge, TikTok users drink a mix of two to four tablespoons of nutmeg with milk or water and document their reactions, as large amounts of the spice can lead to intoxication.

But the high that comes from the spice is actually pretty dangerous.

People who want their 5-minute fame. There are many stupid people among us or those who prey on other people's stupidity. They thrive on the internet.
Smart people know what to do...

They might get high on it with sensations similar to mescaline, but the after-effects are memorable and pretty miserable: a heavy hangover and nasty gastrointestinal upset including nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
In addition, their heart can race uncomfortably. The toxic effects are so unpleasant that very few people give nutmeg a second try.

Screw it. Let these idiots have at it I say. Darwin’s cheering and laughing in his grave “I was right”

I hear the “Russian Roulette Challenge” with semi automatic pistols is the next challenge on tic-toc.

If I caught my kid wasting an entire tin of expensive nutmeg, gastrointestinal discomfort would be the least of his worries.

Kids do stupid things, but a lot of this kind of stupidity could be headed off if parents paid better attention and talked to their kids about the damaging internet challeges before their child became a victim.

Think of it as culling the herd of "bad genes".

As my father said, "It's good to learn from your mistakes. There's no learning, if you are dead."

People were eating Tide pods a few years ago I recall. This is not suprising. If someone went on Youtube saying "eat this bag of nails for the iron to get strong" some would follow.

Thats why we have the Darwin Awards.
