Maybe it was a USB cable from one of those old Wang word processors and he just got confused by the "Insert" key?

Unlike micro and mini, Lighting isn't a USB standard; it's Apple's own proprietary connector. At least he didn't stick a DisplayPort plug into his schlong. Those little wires keeping the plug connected are sharp as hell. Yeow!!!
