In 2019, only in five states was that the case.

Gonna be hard to keep growing the economy with a shrinking population. We've never experienced this before and are probably not prepared for the consequences should it continue.

It’s clear that we need to conserve old people. The longer older people live, the population will not decrease.

Or do the opposite and offer “income guarantees” for moms with over two children. The amount can be correlated to how drastic each state wants to preserve its population.

This isn't all that huge of a deal. If you look at yearly stats in the US you will see the birthrate was steadily declining and pre-pandemic in 2019, it was getting close to even.

Not an NPR fan, but they can probably be trusted for this stat.

Nobody has any concerns about the effect of overpopulation on the planet?

All this hoopla over shrinking populations is ridiculous. Smaller populations use less resources and result in less desecration of the natural world due to lower levels of pollution, contamination and natural habitat destruction. Sure, a smaller population will not be able to sustain luxuries, frivolities and amenities but none of those things are really important.

??? People do not like living in abject poverty. How do you think decline in certain luxuries or amenities happens? It happens slowly. Its literally a multi-generational permanent recession.

This is false. There is absolutely no overpopulation, and definitely not in the US.
Its a Malthusian trap thinking.

Poverty is not the absence of luxuries, it is the absence of wealth. People can be wealthy and not partake of luxuries and amenities.
