Everything I read about this tragic accident says Ruggs drove a new Corvette into the rear of a RAV4 and it exploded into flames killing the driver and her dog.

I looked at the pictures and despite the fact that both cars are mangled, the corvette is distinguishable, but the RAV4 in the pictures looks more like a Tesla.

Anyone else see it that way?

Default A drunk driver going 156 mph hits another car and kills the driver but he himself gets only minor injuries

The wrong person died here. It should have been this drunken fool.
''Drunk at more than twice the legal limit and hauling his Corvette down a residential street at 156 miles per hour with his girlfriend by his side, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, he was a loaded weapon looking for a victim or victims.

He found one, a 23-year-old woman in a Toyota RAV4 who was driving down Rainbow Boulevard, located about 5 miles west of the famed Strip, at 3:39 a.m.''

Las Vegas Raiders WR Henry Ruggs faces two felony charges in fatal crash

Quote:
The Raiders (5-2) were on their bye week but reported back to team headquarters on Monday before having an off day on Tuesday. They were scheduled to begin practicing Wednesday before Sunday's game at the New York Giants (2-6).

Ruggs was the Raiders' first-round draft pick in 2020 out of Alabama, No. 12 overall, and at the time, team owner Mark Davis said of the speedy wideout, "He was the only person I wanted in this draft."

Yep, has to be the dumbest human being on the planet. You can't drive 156 miles an hour safely when sober, let alone when you're drunk, and in a residential area to boot. This should be a murder 2 charge and 25 to life for Mr. Ruggs. Have fun in jail, loser. And RIP to the women he killed.

Sadly, it always seems to be this way. Some drunk driver plows into another car or person and some innocent person ends up dead. It seems the drunk almost always survives, while the innocent victim looses their life or limb.

There is just no excuse for this, it's reckless and selfish and disgusting.

Agree, have fun in jail, good bye NFL career dumb a$$! I wonder if he was fighting with his GF who was in the car, sounds like he was trying to kill them both with how he turned into the Rav 4 if they're accurate

Well he'll spend the rest of his life in jail and a 22 was killed. You can't fix stupid

The problem is you are paying these kids millions of dollars who if they couldn't catch or throw a ball would be in jail or dead in the first place.

Some irony:

“Ruggs lost a childhood friend, Rod Scott, in a car accident in 2016, and Ruggs pays tribute to him by putting up three fingers -- Scott wore No. 3 -- to the sky after big plays.”

Seems driving safely would have been a more meaningful way to pay tribute to him.

Need to crack down on alcohol ASAP, its a public safety issue.

Strange that, ANY other drug that causes so many problems and they create laws very quickly to deal with it, but alcohol consistently gets a pass time and time again.

It doesnt matter how popular alcohol is either...Millions of people were taking Oxycodone, but Govt still came in and threw wrench into the system, popularity didnt equate to squat, it was the public safety/health that was the priority.

Bingo. Besides landing in legal trouble, some of them live right up to their means while playing, and go broke after they retire because they don't have enough sense to save and invest during the careers. The ones who are smart don't get in trouble and live a comfy retirement.
