I'd say most of us here have grown up with the Today Show. I remember watching the very first show with my Mom and my Grandmother as a little kid.
So, if you would like to post your memories of this long running American Institution, please offer them.
One of my fond memories was of one of the members, Durward Kirby, who was an insightful intellectual. He took some ribbing in various events especially with a chimpanzee named J. Fred Muggs. But it wasn't until a cartoon show known as Rocky & Bullwinkle had the Moose "Bullwinkle" wearing a top hat that gave him improved intellectual powers that Kirby couldn't take it any more. The top hat was called the "Kerward Derby". It led to a lawsuit with Kirby and the Cartoon's Creators. Great fun following the news accounts of it.
I remember watching it as a kid in the 50’s when Dave Garroway was the host. And that monkey J Fred Muggs. I still have a clear recollection of Frank Blair the newsreader reporting on the Korean War.
