This is true. They often sound like fireworks or just popping sounds.

A shotgun was fired in our backyard and my mother thought it was just "popping" sounds so didn't go out and look. Good thing, too.

My guess is it was a hit on someone that was the intended target as it usually is. Not a random shooting.
There are a lot of seemingly random murders - pushing people onto subway tracks, senseless killing of the young girl at the furniture store…
Could be something like that… though looks like not random.

The shooter wanted to kill but wanted to escape as well.
More shooting would have impeded his escape.
Maybe random. Tough to investigate

Yes...i don't suppose it has anything to do with the
  • -massive crime rate spike in Blue States
  • -Large effort by blue states to defund the police
  • -Large Blue states abandoning their obligation to keep their citizens safe
  • -DA's in Blue Cities around the country giving ridiculously LOW BAIL to violent MURDERERS
  • -COVID increasing the frustration of US Citizens VIA Inadequate Gov.management of Virus protocall
  • -Leftoid President stirring division by Labeling Citizens White Supremists
  • -Leftoid President failing with every policy and effort to manage the Country...leaving it citizens with a lack of confidence, Hugh inflation, weak economic numbers and a Haunting feeling of Failure and Setback...

None of those factors are influencing Gun Violence....NoooooOOOO~

Its the NRA and their propaganda of self-defense~

Society is not "breaking down." The violent crime rate has been decreasing for decades. Thanks to the internet, we find out about a lot of crimes we wouldn't have when all we had was TV and newspapers. A lot of what we read online wouldn't have been so widely known in times past because it was mostly important locally.

Do you ever read the Good News Network website? No? Didn't think so. Bad news = clicks. Good news = yawn.

Graph showing huge drop in violent crime since 1990: https://www.statista.com/statistics/...sa-since-1990/

"Gun homicide rate down 49% since 1993 Peak, Public Unaware": https://www.pewresearch.org/social-t...ublic-unaware/

Of course, some places are having problems with increased crime. But overall, nationally that is not the case.

I agree. Everyday there are newspaper or online news stories that I think to myself why is this 'national news'.

Suspect in custody in connection of Amtrak shooting

LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. –The Lee’s Summit Police Department arrested a person they believe is connected to the homicide aboard an Amtrak train in January.

Detectives contacted officers with the Kansas City Police Department to check an apartment in the 1600 block of Bushman Drive on Monday.

Police say detectives knocked on the door, a woman answered the door, and the man was seen inside the apartment.

The door to the apartment closed, and when it opened again, the man pointed a gun at officers.

KCPD tactical units arrived on the scene, and negotiators spoke with the man for several hours by phone until about 8:00 p.m. Monday.

The man was taken into custody without incident.

On Tuesday, he was transported to Lee’s Summit Police Department pending charges to the Jackson County Prosecutor’s office.
