I got my Covid 4-pack of test kits today in the USPS mail delivery. I ordered online the first official day of web site availability. I also received the I-Health orange and white test kits that are shown in a photo in post 174.
I don't need these at present, but at least I'll have these sitting around in case there is a need for me to do a self-test.
Here's something that makes these useless in less than 6 months: The USE BY date shown on the lower right side of the box is July 12, 2022, only five months from now! I would have hoped these would be good for a year or so.
Wow! Does anyone know the shelf life of the kits sold in the stores? Are the use by dates on those kits longer?
I haven't gotten my 4 kits from the government yet.
Nope. I ordered mine early and they have yet to be even shipped. I really think they forgot all about it!
Understand until it hits the carrier who reads 26 letters and 10 digits and not the ones and zeros those bar code lines represent who takes it for the last mile it is just a bar code that a computer sees. Computers don't forget but a bar code might be damaged and become unreadable. The computer will generate it in order and send it on the way and the system will generate an email with the expected delivery date.
If you are in an area like mine with letter delivery every third day because the test kit has a bar code all efforts will be made to deliver that kit, even if it means an additional route waits a forth day for letters.
The ones we received came in two different boxes, with two each. They are made by QuickVue. Nowhere on the boxes or the website does it say where they were manufactured. I don't need them anyway. I'm leaving them for my housemate. All I have to do is go to my PCP/Urgent Care and get a 2-3 day test, which is more accurate anyway. Every test I've had is a longer test. I continue to test negative and am not worried.
My brother gave me a gift certificate to Harbor Freight. I went in there and literally could not find a SINGLE ITEM that wasn't made in China. I am so tired of China, I could just scream.
A few years ago, I tried an experiment to support 100% USA-made products. I wanted to spend one month consuming nothing, wearing nothing, using nothing, unless it was USA produced. I couldn't make it one week.
My test kits were provided to me free of charge by my employer. Just checked. China.
Just got mine in yesterday. Tried to post photos but for some weird reason, I can't save the photos. So I will just give an update and I guess people will have to decide whether or not to take my word for it.
They came in well packaged and in good shape. They are in the orange and white box. They are made in China. They expire in the early part of July. So I guess I better get busy getting sick! LOL
