These kind of incidents are more common than people realize

And in many cases, provided armed security, paid for by the same taxpayers they insist on leaving defenseless prey for the very animals they insist on not locking up. Our "justice" system is a joke, empathizing far more with violent criminals than with their victims.

When I was attacked the man grabbed my throat and started dragging me to a car. I literally couldn't mentally process what was happening to me for a few crucial seconds, then I tried to scream and nothing was coming out of my mouth. It was only when he got me to the car I forced myself to slump and my screams finally came out of my mouth. If a passerby hadn’t heard me goodness know what would have happened next. I used to think if I was attacked I’d scream straight away and fight back but it happens so fast and can be so brutal that you don’t have time to say “ hang on a min while I get my gun or knife out” . Obviously in certain settings you might have a taser or pepper spray in hand but in the middle of a busy shop or street it doesn’t usually warrant that kind of preparation.
