Anytime a prisoner is released to the custody of a civil servant: officer, sheriff. The proper paperwork is to be remitted to the release agent. The paperwork would have the confirmation of the appointment at the doctor's office. Time ,address and eta for required return. This is a three fold check. And marked off by three departments inside the prison.
I find this leniency to be a huge loophole in prisoner transport . Two agents are required to escort. Something smells in this story.

Yup. The article said, the person checking the paperwork didn't report the irregularity. (IOW, the officer claimed no other personnel was available to escort the prisoner, and the flunky involved didn't question it or flag it, or notify anyone, contrary to procedural requirements.)

Thank you: a warrant may lead to freezing of her assets as means to avoid the flight from prosecution.
Maybe the Feds already hot on their trail and don’t need to track they/him through banking?

I’m sure she has enough knowledge of how the system works to not stop at ATMs and get money along the way. She probably took enough out beforehand. I’d guess they are in hiding somewhere, kind of hard to go unnoticed at 6’9”.

Allegedly, she cleared $80K cash after a recent sale of her home.

It would be truly a miracle if she is still alive. She is due her pension unless convicted of felony or a judge orders the freeze of her accounts: that may or may not keep her alive for awhile? As surely, the LEO would try to track the money

The guy is very tall - 6’9’’, probably hiding in some remote cabin, unless he/they? were able to fly out internationally? Though they don’t strike me as an international escape kind of people
CNN has her listed as a widow, according to the sheriff. https://www.cnn.com/2022/05/01/us/al...now/index.html

There are other ways to somewhat safer access the money electronically: not sure how shrewd she was.

Unfortunately, if she told him how - he doesn’t need her?

I think, that LEO think she isn’t alive. Issuing a warrant for her arrest would allow for accounts freezing by the judge and prevent him from accessing her monthly pension money just in case?

Not that such a violent guy need to fiddle with the electronic banking - he is all set for a while with her $80K cash and is not afraid of violence/murder to get more when needed

On the other hand, she still could be useful to him for a while if she is disguised- dark hair, sunglasses, a mask, etc - to shop, etc
So she still could be alive

Transport public vehicle, have GPS?

That could be there lead on last location.

I think she is following the same story line as
Bobbi Parker.

History does love to repeat itself.

They apparently drove the transport vehicle straight to a parking lot, and left it there.
