Yup, and it's here in the US. I wasn't concerned when I heard about this because it spreads mainly through close contact, so it's ability to spread is limited. But how did it make it to 12 countries if it doesn't spread easily???
HIV spread around the globe even though it is transmitted only through direct contact with blood/body fluids or needle sharing.

According to Boston Globe, the Mass General Hospital is vaccinating its employees for monkey pox- 2 injections 4 weeks apart.
So far they vaccinated less than 10 employees - the vaccines are from Denmark.
They segregated some employees in different groups as a result of tracing?

Allegedly, if one is exposed to monkey pox - the vaccine may prevent the disease which takes 2-4 weeks to recover, some symptoms sound intolerable, incubation period 10-14 days.
Case fatality rate from 1 to 10%. Younger children more likely

On the other hand, to answer the question below, you could think what you may: Putin of Russia says the monkey pox “leaked” from 1 of 4 bio labs under US supervision in Nicaragua and demanding the investigation.

Currently according to CDC - we have 9 cases in 7 states.

Yes, Mass Gen is vaccinating some contacts of cases.

It appears to have originated in Nigeria (first case in England was acquired there). Perhaps Mr. Putin is geographically challenged?

There are two clades. The current outbreak is the less virulent one found in West Africa.

Welcome to the world of air travel, where you too can be in another country across the ocean by this evening if you'd like.

Have you seen recent border arrest statistics? You have a bizarre definition of wide open.

Just FYI.... 300 cases of monkeypox in the UK.
Most countries are now ordering that vaccine.

Worth keeping an eye on.
