She'll learn her lesson, but I doubt many others do. People have no sense when it comes to wild animals.
I saw a man trying to coax a buffalo closer by holding out a banana while his wife, camera in hand, urged him to get closer.
It's our obsession with "internet fame" most likely. It's not enough that your family see your pictures..the entire world has to see them so you can count the "likes".

I think that's the problem. Also, if they have never left civilization, they might assume that since the animals are there, they must be safe or "somebody" would not have allowed them to be there.
Bet you anything she was trying to get a photo for Facebook. Ten feet. If I saw something that huge, you'd bet your ass I'd stay far away and hope it didn't see me.
That was astoundingly foolish... to approach within 10 feet of a big wild animal with horns...
but still -- so many mean comments, and no sympathy?
You're right; some sympathy is in order here. The animals these fools encounter often end up being killed by the authorities simply for just being "big wild animals" that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time when some vapid human wanted to get a social media selfie. This buffalo has my sympathy. I hope it doesn't end up being destroyed over this, but it probably will be.

So many people are so far removed from nature they have no respect for it. Media anthropomorphizes wild animals so much I guess people think that is real life.
Goodness look how we now see and treat our dogs and cats.
And people dont realize signs and instructions are there for a reason or that they dont apply to them.
What does this have to do with dogs and cats?
Nothing new at the park used to be bears that people would hand feed up until the 70's.
