She could have fallen without any dogs around. Maybe the dogs in the story was what made him (the home) technically liable?
No one thinks the Murdaugh's killed her, including her family. You don't call an ambulance after an attempted murder.
One of them may not have murdered her, but Murdaugh did steal from her sons. The 4.3 million settlement from the insurance company, 2.6 million or there about was to go to her sons. They didn't even know there was a settlement/money due to them.
Article also states that she “wasn’t there to perform work.” Hmmm. So why was she there?
She was there to pick up a paycheck, as I recall.
I'd be suspicious of any activity out of the ordinary at any Murdaugh residence. We'll never know what happened unless an autopsy - which her family is pushing for - can point to something concrete that caused her death. Even then....

Autopsy will likely say brain hemorrhage due to fall.
They won't be able to tell if she was pushed, tripped or anything else with certainty.
They'd be able to tell if she was hit over the head vs a fall most likely, pending on the position of the initial impact. It'd be.. REALLY odd for there to be an injury to the very top of the skull from a fall.. But.. the odds of anything definitive being found is slim.
With the insurer suing.. There may very well be an exhumation, tho.

Ok no dogs. You can't get a conviction (?) if someone wearing gloves pushed her down the steps.
The dogs may be the only witnesses.
He told the insurance company it was his dogs because that's what he needed to say to get a payout, not as an excuse. No one thinks he killed her. They called an ambulance for her. And it was outside steps to a porch, 5 or 6 steps, not a full flight of stairs. Doesn't seem to me anyone would think pushing someone on 5 or 6 stairs would a good way to kill someone. I think it was an accident, and his involvement only extends to the payout.
