I see a few others have posted about this on an old thread dealing with a different derailment.
Have not seen a thread on CD about it yet, but I have not looked at OH forums.
I’m pretty amazed that the media for the most part is ignoring this horrific event. Fish are dying, the water supply is most likely contaminated. Horrible.

Yesterday I checked the entire Ohio forum, and could not find anything on the topic. Certainly people are aware of this terrible accident and its effects on people, animals and the environment. Maybe those who live in Ohio find the subject too depressing for a general discussion?

This certainly implies the gravity of this derailment. Reports about the spy balloon and other curiosities in the sky provide some necessary distractions, it seems.
It's not just Ohio, the toxic plume is reaching into Pennsylvania, Michigan, even western New York. The Ohio River has been hit, which supplies water to 10 million people and empties into the Mississippi. We are still learning but people on the ground are saying there was a massive coverup operation by the railroad operator and that not only did they possibly make things worse by burning the vinyl chloride (a substance so toxic that the Chinese won't even transport it) but they buried a bunch of the chemicals and then laid new tracks right over it.
My daughter is in Pittsburgh. They have heard about it, but it has not been national news until now.
People near the burning are losing pets. It's bad.
It's a chemical used in the making of plastic. We all love our cheap plastic crap, don't we. This is a possibility of what can happen when humans play with chemistry, sadly.

There WAS a thread started on this forum, but the same morons who have to turn every damn thing into a R v. D conspiracy event did just that, and so the thread was deleted by the forum mod.
This forum is for more intelligent discussion about current events. Let's keep it that way.
Another crazy aspect of this story is that Netflix just recently released a film about this same exact scenario that was also filmed in Ohio, and they hired extras from East Palestine too! I'm sure they are living in Deja vu.
