Hi, all! Not much to report. No NN sightings yet, no PT today. DH and I are going to Gulf Coast Town Center sometime today and off to Oatback Steakhouse. That's about as fancy as I can get him to go, but that's ok.
Mom sent me a beautiful bouquet yesterday - so colorful! and with 6 baby roses in it. Just beautiful. I wish they'd last longer.
We had a bonfire out here last night. I was up very late making sure the drunken fools did not burn the barn down. I finally got to bed a little after 3 this morning. I was stunned when Shadow nudged me this morning, ready to go chase mousies.
So, since they harvested the corn in the field across the street yesterday we had a whole new place to explore. Not much interesting over there and I expect we will be back in our hay field tomorrow.
I 'll tell you guys, that corn harvesting machine is incredible. It mows, shucks, separates the corn from the cob, and loads it onto the truck. One man brought in 30 acres in just a few hours.
O.K., off to paint. I have 2 rooms that should be ready for real paint tomorrow. So far I am just using primer.

Thanks, Evey.
I used to watch the farmer who lived next door to us bale his hay. I just got the biggest kick out of the machine that would throw that bale into the hay wagon. I only saw it miss once, when he was making a shrp turn! Hey, give me a beer and a guy mowin' hay and I'm a happy camper!
Did my walk, very early and tomorrow is weigh/measure and body fat reading at Curves. For right now, it's back to work, as the self-employed knows no time-clock!
Racelady....You've tugged at my memory. Farming was our life for many years, and lots of times, our kids took their naps in the combine cab with their dad while he harvested the corn crop. Something about that sound lulled them to sleep every time! In the meanwhile, I wrung chicken necks, cleaned, dressed and froze them. Of course, chicken was dinner 5 nights/week! But, I digress.......
I've never done anything on a farm but have sometimes in my life wanted to live on one.
My clocks are changed except for one. I need to change it at noon. It chimes and it's the only way I know how to do it at 12.
I'm out to take a walk later. Other than that, I'll sadly put away the Halloween decorations.
Happy Sunday.
