good morning everyone

should be a fun day today
I am meeting a friend for lunch, she is the woman I adopted Clue from as well as my first greyhound 16 years ago.
She is an amazing woman she is in her late 70's and has twice the energy I do
She drove down from W VA to help her son at the kennel because he had surgery
We will have pizza and then go to the fabric store

Tonight is hubby office xmas party I am looking forward to this mainly because of the gift exchange they do the type where you can either "steal" someones gift or pick a new one

I am bringing a signed football like I did last year and it is so funny how they kept stealing it.

lol last year they were trying to figure out how many time a gift could be "stolen" I suggested 5 or 6 and the one lady said 3 is enough I tried to convince them 5 or 6
lol I was so " I told you so" when folks got "mad" they they couldn't steal the ball

A few of the folks came up to hubby at the manager meeting asking "you bringing another ball this year" so now that they suspect I am going to "trick" them by just putting a card in an envelope saying "signed ball" instead of wrapping the ball which would be a give away

rofl why do I have a feeling may increase the number of "steals" this year

ok lol how scary is it that this will be the height of my fun at this party
They are nice enough people but after 20 mins I have said hello to everyone and since they all talk "shop" the whole party I am ready to go

So thats my day what does yours look like ?

Anyone else having trouble imagining someone who has more energy than Karla?

My day will be busy, busy, busy. I am heading to FL early tomorrow (weather permitting) for Christmas. I will be driving with Shadow 1,100 miles. Before I leave I have to do laundry, pack, and at least make sure there is a clear path from room to room for my neighbors who are going to be taking care of Mickey & Buzz.

There is currently ice happening south of here along the route I need to take, so I will be watching the weather very closely. Last thing I want is to drive through the mountains on ice covered roads.

Oh Evey I don't like that drive, had to make it from MI many times when the kids were little and my parents were still alive. Be careful!
Karla, sounds like my husbands work parties, I have never liked to go because of the same reason, no one talks about things I know.
Today is work, then off to FedEx, and then home to get hubby to get his mom and dad's presents. Oh I dread that. The last four years we have gotten away with gift certificates because we were unable to be with them. I'm sure I will find something.
Well all have a wonderful day.

LOL! Sorry, Jacksonville is definitely out of the way. I will already be on I-75. I suspect that by the time I hit the border I will be over driving and just want to get it over with, but will still have 5 more hours to go. Then I will watch the signs for Tampa and as it gets close I will suddenly remember that I am going 45 minutes south of Tampa and that will be the most frustrating part of the drive (I hope).

Hm. 25 degrees and 'feels like 15.' Glad the day is warming up now. Maybe we'll get to 30.

So by now y'all people know I'm no blooming genius. Here is my new story:

Put the new puppy to bed last night after lots of poo poo pee pee (my whole life is poo poo pee pee right now). Awakened at 4am with crying...figured I'd be up in a hour and half anyway, and I wanted to avoid cleaning the crate. Well, I guess I woke up too late, b/c it was sopping in there. Cleaned it out, took the dogs out...nothing doing in the backyard. So then I leashed 'em up and went running in the park. Well, I got really lucky - ran right into an ice patch (it was dark, who knew? I mean, all that frozen rain and sleet yesterday should have been a clue). Thank god I didn't fall. So then I just ran with the dogs back and forth on the same non-icy patch of concrete. My older dog probably thought I was nuts.

That didn't really do much to wear the puppy out. We came home, I cleaned them up, fed the puppy...went out in the backyard and made a poo poo (the puppy, not me - I'm allowed to go in the house now). Let the 2 dogs play together in the baby-gated kitchen (thank god for baby gates).

I got ready for work and took my little red sports car out of the garage (I use it as my daily driver to work). I had just had it worked on yesterday (6 month oil change). Well, I go up the neighborhood street and hit the brakes as I get to a stop sign...I hear grinding and churning and grr grr grr grr grr. I was like, WTF?

Oh, yeah...guess what...it's 20 freakin' degrees outside and so the streets are all icy. And those were my antilock brakes keeping me from getting killed. Thought about going back home and getting the truck (would have to de-ice that, b/c it lives outside)...but I didn't want to go downhill back through the ice. And I would have to crawl the 25 miles to work at 30mph, so I was already gonna be late. *sigh*

Anyone who wants exercise, get a freakin' puppy. I wear myself out trying to wear her out.

I like older puppies and dogs for that reason. ALready potty trained. I'm not too good with training in that way.
Evey, vibes are being sent to clear the roads for you and to have a safe trip.
Stan, I talked to my mom last night (also lives in Texas) The night before she was at an outside church service. No coat, really nice weather. Yesterday got down to freezing and everyone was in winter clothes. What a change. Texas hardly gets bad weather.

Song, that was Sunday night. I walked the dogs in shorts and a t-shirt.
Then an hour later, the wind blew and the temp dropped to the 40s in a matter of 1 or 2 hours.

This happens...all the time in the winter. Back to the 50s/60s by Thursday/Friday, and we'll hit 70s before the winter's through, I'm sure. January will bring actual snow.

Karla...my older dog I got even younger - 5 weeks! I guess I blocked out all the waking up and cleaning and waking up and cleaning... Phbt.
