Took another day off work today. Woke up to blue skies, mild temps and no wind, so perfect morning for a bike ride. Can't get away with excuses to slack off due to the weather very often here in Southern Cal. Pedaled a 38 mile loop with no rest stops, just a half dozen stops for traffic lights along the way. Today's time was 2 hours, 21 minutes, about 16.2 MPH average. Felt great, nice variety of hills and flats, and got a chance to see some animals along the way. All the big birds were out in full force from hawks to vultures. One of the vultures gave me a close fly by while checking out some roadkill, luckily it wasn't me they were after.

Whenever I encounter vultures on rides or runs, I shake my fist at them and shout "I'm not dead yet!"
