That's it in a nutshell. I wonder if anyone's have had luck quitting with the e cigarette? I suspect not. There's still a psychological addiction and not a break with the habit of smoking.
I know several that have quit this way. Some went from the tobacco flavored ones to the other flavors.

Some like the habit but not the damage from the cigarette.

I'm in this category. Getting ready to quit and using e cigs to do it.

I quit on Champix a few years ago and I have to say I found it brilliant. Before that I tried patches, cold turkey and could not manage to stay off for longer than 4 months. I haven't smoked for 3½ years and haven't looked back. Different things work for different people but if you want to stop smoking you have to completely stop and give your body time to get the cigarettes out of your system. Stopping smoking is as much a mental addiction as chemical.
Congrats Bernie20!!!

I'm now on day 5 and also using Chantix. I haven't had any issues with it other than some pretty vivid dreams. Hoping this will take, as I am one of those weird smokers... I'll chain smoke when in my car or on the deck having a glass of wine. But then I go for two days without one if I'm just relaxing in the house over the weekend.

Good luck. I'm 2 weeks without a real one. Just the fake e cigs.

I think everyone has their own ways of getting by. I know someone that substituted gum for cigs and is about 20 yrs from her last cigarette.

I hope you have a lot of success with Chantix.
