It has been my experience that most really lean meat is about one point per ounce on ww. 93% ground beef is one point per ounce until you get to 5 ounces, according to my calculations. I find the 96% ground beef to be so lean that I have to add fat to fry it, thus being counter productive. We have this (93%) one time a week at the most, because Mr. VA gets gout. He stopped having trouble with gout when he was working outside our home and stopped eating beef at fast food places. We just had our beef meal at lunch. About the only place we eat out anymore is Olive Garden and we have meatless soup and salad with those yummy rolls.
I can (and normally do) make a complete meal of just the Olive Garden salad. Don't know why I think it's so good... I just do!
It's the dressing. I always buy a container of the dressing to take home when we go there. It is the only dressing I use. One point per tablespoon--not bad. I always overdo on the rolls, but we don't go there a lot, maybe once a month. Since I have time to cook, I really don't go out a lot. I didn't think I would ever say this, but I like my cooking better and I know what is in the food.
Before I retired, we ate out and brought home a lot. I was just too tired to cook.
