I am in Dallas/Cedar Hill for the week, where can I get some good Texas food?

BBQ- Big Al's & Mike Anderson's are in Dallas, just west of the Tollroad. Mike Anderson's is near the medical district and Big Al's is located at Lemmon & Inwood. Sammy's in uptown is also great, but only open for lunch.

Tex-Mex: Mi Cocina (several locations), the original El Fenix downtown, Ojeda's on Maple Ave west of the Tollroad.

Steak: Dunston's on West Lovers (great cheap steak, whole meal is about $20). Bob's Steak & Chop House and Nick & Sam's are both way more expensive, but definitely worth the treat.

Other "Dallas" originals:
1. La Duni- several locations, but delicious to-die-for Latin cuisine & tasty cakes.
2. Tei An- upscale Japanese restaurant in One Arts Plaza. Some of the best Japanese food this side of Japan.
3. Bolsa- market-fresh menu that changes every day. Uses ingredients from Dallas based Jimmy's Italian market and Deep Ellum's Mozzerella Company. Located in Bishop Arts District, in North Oak Cliff.
4. Bubba's- Fried Chicken, biscuits, & veggies in Snider Plaza (University Park/ SMU area of Dallas).

I went through Cedar Hill not long ago and was surprised at what I found, it has really grown. I saw a Salt Grass Steak House, if memory serves me correct, they have good rolls. Someone was telling me too that Babe's Chicken is there. I love Babe's! They have a really good chicken fried steak served with all you can eat vegetables. I love their green beans and corn. They also serve biscuit, chow chow and good syrup with the biscuits. My mind is failing me, it's not honey though. Come to my rescue Babe lovers.
