Hey everyone,

Originally from Scottsdale, AZ. Moved to Columbus, Oh for work 1.5 years ago.

I was planning on moving back home this month, yet unexpected opportunity presented in Dallas. Office is in Lewisville. I'm worried that if I live where I work, I won't have as great an opportunity to meet others, and try to rebuild a network of friends.

Not looking for a party scene, yet need an area of "young professionals". Being the case, seem's like everyone says "you got to live downtown".

I know traffic is bad, yet how about a reverse commute, from down-town to Lewisville? I'm trying to understand the Dart and the other Denton one, yet too much construction. Seems like it would be possible to actually take the train right into a park-n-ride in lewisville. Is this possible?

Appreciate everyone's help in advance!

Think about Addison or Valley Ranch. Many young professionals live in those areas and they both are very convenient to Lewisville.

I drive the Uptown to Lewisville route on I-35 several times a month for work. It's never more than a 25 minute commute- straight shot up 35.

Uptown to Lewisville in the morning is the opposite of the way most people are going. Unless there is an accident, it's pretty quick.

Also, Addison has a lot of young professionals and is fairly close to Lewisville.

I also recommend north Irving and Addison area. Downtown is trendy, and not worth it to commute to Lewisville. The traffic is bad both directions in the afternoon.

I agree with all of these...Addison is a good fit for someone who is in their late 20s-early 30s and is unattached if you like the bar and restaurant scene. Shopping is also great in that part of town.

if your going to work in lewisville it would be wise to live in lewisville as well. There are lots of nice areas near there to live. And your right by the lake. Why suffer through a commute if it isnt necessary?

As many have said, Addison is a great fit and not that far as you will be going against traffic. Also consider Denton which is the other direction and parts of Lewisville itself might be worth looking into. There are lots of great apt buildings in the city.. I don't think you need to worry about not being right in Dallas.
