How is the humidity in Dallas on a given afternoon in July/August?

Does it feel like a wet towel, like Houston does? Or is it more moderated and tolerable?

It's usually not as bad as Houston, but the last couple of weeks have been Humid! Yuk! Usually it's more tolerable.

Agreed, not as bad as Houston, but yesterday was horribly humid!
I grew up in the Panhandle of Texas where it is considered semi-arid climate so...I'm probably a little more intolerant of humidity than most.

It depends who you ask. Californians think it's humid as hell here. I think it's moderate, but not near the Houston, New Orleans type of humidity....Unless the wind is blowing from the Southeast. As it is, we tend to get southwesterly winds for the majority of the summer, making it really hot. This has been an unusually wet year for us. You can expect spring storms, but this has lasted later for us this year.

Basically it isn't as humid here as Houston, but the actual temp is usually hotter in Dallas.

According to the National Weather Service, Dallas tomorrow is forecast for a high of 91 degrees and 47% humidity. Houston will be 91 degrees, with 56% humidity.

San Diego, CA will be 78 degrees at 49% humidity. Dallas will be slightly less humid than San Diego.

Our mornings have been VERY humid but it clears up pretty nice and usually burns off w/ the heat of the day. The evenings have been GREAT! Tonight was great and a nice breeze. Although I saw there was a storm that was popping up in Collin County and going thru McKinney but we are not getting ANY of that here in our part of the metroplex. These showers all day have been VERY isolated.

lived in both areas, and the humidity in Dallas is much drier than Houston. The air doesn't feel like a solid mass when you walk outside here.
