So as some people on this forum might know, i'm a UT student. I plan to go to my first Texas-OU game up in Dallas in October and have a few questions to any Dallasites who have either been to the game, or even been to the fair on the same day as the game (or even notice a difference in traffic).

1. How is the traffic around the Cotton Bowl that day? Is it best to drive to the fair grounds or would DART be the better option?

2. If driving is the best way, how is parking?

3. How crowded are the hotels that weekend? We have already booked our room, but i'm just curious as what to expect.

Answers to these questions and anything else you have to add are greatly appreciated.

DART was an absolute mess last year. People missed the kick off and it took hours to get them back to their homes/cars. Although they say they are trying to get a route down to make sure they don't run into problems like they did last year, I highly doubt that will happen. They had a few snags on the Fourth of July this year, so I really don't see it getting much better. I'm sure parking isn't any better either.

I was returning from San Antonio to Dallas on business one year on the day of the game. Never again! People were drunk before getting on the plane and many threw up all the way there. It took me half a day to get out of the airport (Love) and hit the highway headed north out of McKinney. We always stay as far away as possible from Dallas and all North/South highways every TX/OU weekend.

The city gets crazy crowded for Texas-OU weekend. Drive your car to Fair Park and leave bright and early. Last year was DART's first year to have that particular rail line open and it was a disaster. DART promises to be better this year - so who knows how it will go. I would try to somehow get some VIP parking pass.

Oh Lord no, not yet and I hope they never move it there. Having it in the Cotton Bowl during the Texas State Fair is what makes the game special. Moving it to Jerryworld would take a lot of the history and tradition out of the game. I would be on the verge of tears if it moved there lol

We're talking about the Texas-Oklahoma game. Not the cotton bowl game itself.

It's pretty probable that all games held at the Cotton Bowl will end up moving to Jerry World.
