We're moving from Missouri. We have children ranging in ages from 2-12. We have great elementary/middle schools, but as our kids get into junior high and high school our schools here have some serious issues. The majority of the kids drink and we have some pretty serious drug problems as well.
I'm curious to know, what the student body is like at the local FM high schools. Is drinking a huge issue? What about drugs? I've just assumed this is a problem everywhere, but I'm hopeful that maybe it's not that way in FM.

They are mostly white affluent populations. So, yeah, there are the usual things like underage drinking, endulged kids and helicopter parenting. But, it's also very academically competitive like any other white affluent area. You are not going to find a high school anywhere that doesn't have drinking and some drugs and some procreating going on.

It's a problem everywhere. But if your kids stick with the right crowd, they'll be fine. I spent my high school years at Flower Mound blissfully ignorant that drugs or alcohol existed. My husband was in an inner-city Catholic high school and was offered drugs on a regular basis.
