Things don't make sense because . . .. I am not involved with commercial development. I am not selling anything. I am trying to give the OP insight. I do understand the Dallas - Fort Worth area. The OP desires something that seems like it is out in the country but conveniently located within what has to be an urban area. Otherwise, he or she would just have to go out into the country.
The neighborhood the OP is asking about could be anywhere. It could exist in a development within Las Colinas if the requirements are that it only seem like it exists out in the country.
Else, I'd recommend that he or she drive south and check out the area in Cedar Hills.
Why not drive south along Loop 12 and check that area out? It isn't that far of a commute, is it? Developers from California really loved that area when it was first discovered.

HeY Nifty-

It's Cedar HILL, not Cedar Hills. This is the second or third time you've gotten the name wrong.

Okay. What about the substance of the question? Is Cedar Hill a good commute to the Las Colinas area? There will be lots of construction on Loop 12 but Highway 161 will be finished in the future.

Mister Nifty has a point. Why Southlake or Flower Mound to las Colinas? Why not Cedar Hill to las Colinas?

A matter of a few miles and some highway constuction. Those northern 'burbs will be in grid lock soon enough.
