the fact that she is CHOOSING a new committee for that same purpose is another faux paux--
she should keep her hands out of it--period...

and sending the money to her grandsons directly is probably a violation of Income tax law--they should have had to report that money as income...
either from Her since she repaid the scholarships or from the committee--
that was unearned income...

I did some digging around on the internet and he was defeated in the three-way primary.

2010 Republican Party Primary Election - RESULTS

I think any Republican will have a tough time winning this district, even with the recent scandal facing EBJ.

Yeah, well if it was so near and dear to her heart she would have started something like this when she was dishing out the money to her grandkids and employees....

Too bad.

Heaven knows that if it had been one of her main opponents that happened to be white that did that she would be the first one screaming about impropriety. Oh, never mind, she would not know what that word meant as she full well did not know what ETHICS were.

Honestly, the people in her district should be jumping up and down SCREAMING and calling to have her removed from her seat. What she did was cheat them and their children out of money they needed to gain a higher education. They SHOULD be. I'm starting to believe that most of them do not understand the full ramifications of her actions and how she cheated her own constituents out of money that was meant for them.

MOST of her constituants are not reading the paper or listening to the news---and this story is OLD news now--
most people should know that an incumbent has an overwhelming chance to be re-elected even if there are negatives to be brought up by the opponent
and compared to the problems that many people in her district are probably having--they don't see this as taking money out of THEIR pockets--
some people probably give her points for knowing how to game the system and then knock her score down for getting caught--
it is a cynical age we live in...
