Has anyone flown in or out of the DFW airport on Thanksgiving day?
If so, does it get extremely busy like the Major airports across the country?
Long Term parking fill up fast? Major delays on lines?

Seeing as how DFW is in fact one of those major airports, yes, it can get very busy for holiday travel. Below is a list of the 2008 Thanksgiving Busiest Airports. This list varies wildly from year to year. This year DFW is not in the top 10. Next year it could easily be in the top 10.

I am not sure how busy DFW is ON Thanksgiving Day, but I would imagine the long-term parking would be pretty full by Wednesday evening.

I would never fly around the holidays. Its terrible.
I would leave a couple days early and go back a couple days later if possible. The day before and after thanksgiving is NUTS.

we are flying Tuesday and our son coming after work on Wed--he is one I am worried about--
in both cases a friend is taking us to and from DFW--the long-term parking has been known to be full

if you are taking a shuttle ride from your house you absolutely have to factor in extra time for getting to airport early

I am concerned about the TSA situation slowing down the lines as well
we are checking our suitcase--so don't have to worry about dragging them through security--

I checked on the Internet. If the information is correct, the two MMW(millimeter wave) nude scanners at DFW have just been replaced by multiple x-ray scanners. MMW scanners theoretically pose less health risks (except for people who have pacemakers). I'm not going to get any x-ray unless medically necessary. They keep saying the "individual risk" is small but whatever amount of x-ray you get, the more you get the higher the risk. I also will not allow my children to get any unnecessary x-ray or invasive pat-downs. So no family air travel indefinitely until this policy is changed.

Thanksgiving Day itself won't be nearly as bad as Tuesday/Wednesday and Sunday. We came in last year on Sunday and the place was empty...I also wouldn't count on parking if you are leaving on Thursday!
