No, it's a part of Addison--a separate suburb of Dallas. It's just a mixed use development with retail, apartments, and condos. It's nice, but Addison Circle isn't anything like Coral Gables.

It's a neighborhood in Addison (a suburb north of Dallas), named for the round traffic "circle". If you can find the circle on google maps, all those low buildings around the circle are apartments- all built in the last 10ish years. Beltline Road and Midway Road are where most all of the restaurants, bars, and other things are. There is a big field just west of Addison Circle @ Midway where the big festivals are held each year- Taste of Addison, Oktoberfest, & Kaboomtown/ July 4th fireworks.

It's not really walkable- you can walk from Addison Circle to the events named above, but Beltine is a major 6-lane road with a lot of traffic and wasn't exactly built for pedestrians like the Uptown area of Dallas.

Re:shopping. The Galleria mall is not too far away- 5ish minutes via car. Across the Tollroad @ Beltline & Montfort is a Barnes & Noble, Wal Mart, Best Buy, etc- "big box" stores.

Coral Gables?! Hardly!! The closest thing to Coral Gables in Dallas is the Park Cities (towns of Highland Park & University Park, 4ish miles north of downtown Dallas). They were developed around the same time as Coral Gables (1910-1920's), have abundant tree-lined streets with majestic old and new homes, are home to a university (SMU), and share similar upscale shopping choices as Villages of Merrick Park in Highland Park Village and NorthPark Mall (Neiman's, Gucci, Carolina Herrera, Jimmy Choo, etc).

Addison Circle is nice, but it's Florida equivelant would be any "fake" urban area in a suburb. (Fake meaning it was developed and planned that way in modern times, whereas older urban areas had to be developed in close proximity due to cable car routes- ie, in Dallas that would be the in-town neighborhoods of Uptown, Downtown, Park Cities & Knox Street area, North Oak Cliff, Deep Ellum, etc)

well yea thats what i meant by design.. upscale stores and by the looks and sound of it, seems calm and collected, like coral gamble (compared to miami beach anyways lol)

i have NO problem with it being a fake surburban area. tell me, how s the night life there? (in addison circle)

The Addison Airport is private (private individual & corporate jets) and maybe does a little cargo, too. No commercial airlines fly there (American, Delta, etc). When I notice planes there, it's mostly smaller planes- lots of them, but at least they're quieter than jumbo jets.

First- the only thing "in Addison Circle" is the traffc circle and apartments. The rest of the area is called Addison.

Zero upscale shopping in Addison and the surrounding areas. The Galleria has some nice stores left, but most have moved south to NorthPark Mall since it's 2005 expansion (Gucci, Louis Vuitton, etc) or they have crappy stores there and a nicer store at NorthPark (ie, Nordstrom only has designer at NorthPark).

There are lots of good restaurants in Addison- if you like eating in a strip mall. Very little ambiance. Lots of bars, too. They biggest pro is that so much "stuff" is close together. The biggest cons (to me) is lack of park space/ greenery, it looks "contrived", and the whole eating a nice meal in a darn strip mall looking out on a major 6-lane road or the tollroad. It's not quaint or pretty, that's for sure!

i will NEVER buy a $100 shirt anyways!!

its either addison circle, addison or uptown for me..

i heard uptown is nice and that addison circle is pretty safe (for nowadays anyway) its REALLY close to a walmart (according to google maps) and target. so thats a big plus. does addison circle have salons and stuff? (for the wife, i swear!)
