We were so restricted as to size when we replaced our fridge and all of the new ones are HUGE and we are in an older house that we had to order ours. We have the same issue with washer and dryers. All have to be special ordered because of the limited space. These things exist they are just not kept in stock. We ended up ordering through a Maytag store, I think. Kellum is also great - expensive, but excellent service.

That's why we went with Lowe's. We needed a very thin counter-depth fridge and no one else had one in stock to see.

Home Depot and Lowes seem to always have competitve prices, but both run specials on various large appliances and brands from time-to-time for even further savings. You may want to ask the managers of appliance department when your chosen refrigerator will be on special.

We got ours from Gold Star Appliances in Richardson. I never considered them until my mom mentioned that's where they'd gotten theirs.

Lowe's has thin counter-depth? I haven't seen those there and that is what we need soon.

Just checked and they do! Thank you so much. I check out flyers from Lowe's and Home Depot weekly and I never see counter-depth.

We needed really thin counter depth. I don't remember exactly, but I want to say we needed something about 27" deep, which was near impossible to find in a store. Best Buy said they could order something, but it would take a month to get in. Same story at a lot of places.

We found stuff that was $2K+, but didn't want to spend that much. We went with a Whirlpool Gold, and it's been great.
