Indeed this is terrific news. For some time now Collin County has needed a "county" hospital to care for it's indigent. Many years ago it had one. For too long those behind the healthcare system in McKinney have not kept up with the growing need for adequate healthcare for those who do not have insurance or a way to pay. Remember the big "stink" between Parkland and Collin County because Parkland felt CC was dumping patients into their pool and depleting their funds for Dallas County? I can see where the 3 new hospitals being built on the West side can provide exceptional healthcare to patients because of the backing by Methodist Healthcare Systems and the Baylor Healthcare Systems. Don't know alot about the Cirrus group but location is great to capture a client base that will expect exceptional care regardless of cost. As for the Medical Center of McKinney, it should step up to become the "county hospital" due to location, reputation and need. Just my opinion.

The entire area is becoming a magnet for high end medical facilities. Just look at how many are now in Plano. I'm guessing this has something to do with the cap of medical lawsuits of 250k. Malpractice insurance is probably next to nothing here.....in San Diego, I knew several docs that paid close to 70k annually for malpractice insurance. The sky is the limit for medical lawsuits in CA.
