Hello,

I am looking for a decorator that does 2-4 hour consultations in terms of decorating a condo or flat, essentially making suggestions for what to buy, what to find new homes for, where to take "recyclables" etc. I can't paint the walls but am open to new ideas.

Also, I have some furniture I'd like to sell and do not care to go through craigslist. Is there an estate sale or auction house in town. I live in north Dallas if that matters.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Most feng shui consultants do that sort of thing. My agent got one ($75/hr) and the room arrangements she suggested made a HUGE difference in how good the rooms looked. I'm sure Dallas has a few to call.

I recently used Kay Troutt from KST design on a home in Highland Park. She is awesome. Here is her website. KST design : Residential & Commercial Interiors by Kay Schaefer Troutt She will interview you about what you like and what you have and go from there. She works with all budgets too.

She can also refer estate sale companies to you too.

Area 25 is a great consignment store on West Lovers, west of Inwood. They seem to turn their inventory quickly and have mid to high end furnishings. They also merchandise the store as a boutique (with fully accessorized room vignettes) vs the junk & rummage environment of most consignment stores. I'd check there to see if they'd take your furniture on consignment.

I believe one of the ladies who owns Area 25 is also a home stager and she used to run a furniture studio in the Design District. I'm sure she would be a good place to start- either to hire or for recommendations.

I've bought a few pieces there & they are super nice and helpful- and have a great eye.
