Yep there would be practically NO parking except for the AAC lots and other scattered dowtown parking garages.

Now that would be something bold!
You know what............... how about Fair Park. Keep the Cotton Bowl, of course. Add a nice ballpark there. There is already a good amount of parking but more would need to be added. With them possibly making the midway a year round event this would be an ENORMOUS boost for the city of Dallas and Fair Park. It has DART rail right there as well.

Actually it would work in both places. Parking is not as much of an issue as you might think LW. The Red Sox have almost no parking garage at all and there are just really a few lots around the stadium - maybe enough for 1000 cars - that's it. Everybody take the T to the game and parks in the megalots along the train routes. Various contractors tried to build more parking in the Fenway, but the neighborhood smartly just said no thanks. Parking lots do not make for a pleasant neighborhoods. Neighbors make a neighborhood. Instead they built some nice modern luxury highrises much like Uptown and the Sox fans are just as happy on the trains. The few surrounding parking lots btw were charging like $40 to park.

And Yes Mom, you are exactly right. DART would be a big winner for that.

The smartest thing the Rangers could do, which I doubt they would though, is build a small stadium like Fenway. The intimacy makes for a great experience for the fans and commands a higher ticket price. Plus realistically, the Rangers don't need a 100K seat stadium - baseball is just not that big in Texas.

Agreed - and while we're at it, bring FC Dallas closer to town too, when the lease is up in Frisco. FCD!
