If there are any I'd like to work at one. Although I have a business degree, I don't mind working with my hands and I have a strong work ethic. I'm unemployed so I'd gladly take $30k.

Have you tried the new Toyota truck plant near San Antonio?

There is an old General Motors plant in Arlington, but last I heard they were laying off workers left & right.

Where did you hear that?

The facility in Arlington is the only GM plant still manufacturing full size SUVs. They manufactured over 280,000 Tahoes, Suburbans, and Escalades in 2010, the most built since 2003.

Additionally, GM annouced that they would be awarding its hourly workers, mostly assembly line jobs, close to $4,000 in bonuses. Engineers and managers will see up to 16% of their pay as a bonus.

International Truck also has a plant in Garland.

It's VERY difficult to get a job at the CM plant, especially as a new grad with no experience. The only time someone leaves is when they retire...

What type of manufacturing? There are literally hundreds in the Dallas/Ft Worth region. I could rattle off an easy 100. Just depends on what type of manufacturing you are interested in and how large or small of a company you would want to work for.

Car manufacturing I believe is what the OP is looking for.

Did you read the title of the thread?

The OP specified car manufacturing plants in D/FW.

Link? Sounds like something else you've pulled out of your a**.

The last I heard, GM was ramping up production in Arlington.

I thought the gas guzzling, soccer mom driving SUV fad died a long time ago...

With $3.00+ gas back for a fore seeable length of time production will cease once again. Its just a matter of time. Supply & demand. People will not be buying those gas hogging vehicles.

Don't even mention GM's "Flexfuel" technology. Most automotive experts agree you don't get much, if any better gas mileage with it.

The hybrids cost a premium & they're too low on horsepower to haul anything big & heavy.
