Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert to announce resignation Wednesday | City Hall Blog | dallasnews.com

Dwaine Caraway will probably take over for a while.

Thoughts?

Wonder who'll be next to get the key to the city? OJ, maybe? Mike Tyson?

Lindsay Lohan most likely. Maybe Paris Hilton, who knows? Then of course there's Ben Roethlisberger.

Dwaine Caraway has done no wrong. He gave the key to the city to someone (Micheal Vick) that has completely turned his life and image around. If that all you got on the guy I think he will do very well as temporary mayor of Dallas.

Leppert and Moncrief are both stepping down. One before his term ends and the other when it ends. Thoughts? How about both are bailing from sinking ships before the crew (citizens) catch on??

But wait...there's more. Dwaine Caraway also broke the chain of command and tried to use his council position to get the police to stop ticketing cars parked illegally at a poker house in South Dallas.

Then, of course, we have Archie and Arthur, the attempt by Caraway to cover up the real reason why the cops came to his house in January. Not only did he break the chain of command again by calling the chief directly (instead of calling 911 like everybody else), but he lied about the incident.

It's this little thing called integrity, and it would appear that Dwaine Caraway doesn't have it.

Im more concerned about his attempt to try and make cigars illegal and trying to overthrow the vote to make Dallas wet.

He is too socially conservative for my taste. Despite being white and Republican, Leppert was more open minded.

He may have turned his life around, but he is STILL at the top when it comes to being the most hated man in sports. NOT a good candidate for being given the key to the city.

Maybe Caraway will give it to Tiger Woods??
