For those who haven't seen them already, here's links to the previous threads about this article.

D Magazine's best 'burbs in Dallas

July D Magazine Article: Best Suburbs

I wouldn't anticipate dramatic changes in 2011, as I think things are pretty stagnant everywhere with the economy being the way it is.

FYI DMag only runs their Rating the Suburbs every other year. So the next time around will be 2012. And fortunately will give them plenty of time to get current population data. Murphy's was so far off due to the vast changes in the city from 2000 that it made me cringe when I read it.

I think SCHOOLS will make impact in rankings
by then the 2011-2012 season will be in play and people will be seeing how a particular district has handled the shortfall

Big yawn for this list. Seems heavily biased in favor of wealthy and/or far-flung suburbs.

I chuckled at the comment made at Garland #49 that the rating should be be expected to rise next time around because Firewheel mall was getting an in-N-out burger joint.

D Magazine's ratings are a joke to me. They are driven by advertisers money for "the best of"...

Parker is #1??? seriously?? a town of 3600 people? don't get me wrong, it's a nice area, but you can drive through the whole city in 5 minutes. Couldn't they at least, categorize the list by population? How do you compare Parker to Flower Mound??

Yawn.

Outside of Park Cities and maybe Southlake, they could have called this list "Top 10 most boring suburbs."

Parker has a special place in my heart. We lived there staging a home for 8 months. What was so beautiful was the open wide views of the sky. In the summers, the sun setting made such lovely orangish colors. I have not seen such colors since moving away.
